What a great start to the day, it was actually dry with even an occasional blue hue in the sky. Visibility was enough to enjoy the magnificent mountains lining our passage from Helensburgh to Burnt Island (Bute). With very little wind we slowly sailed, sometimes forwards, and took in the stunning scenery.

Upon arrival at the anchorage at Burnt Island, north Bute, we were both busy on deck when a C-130 buzzed us carrying out ‘Crab Airways’ tactical low flying manoeuvres below the mountain tops and through the valleys; it was an amazing sight. Unfortunately neither of us had hands free to take a picture, so one for the memory banks.

The row and walk ashore was soggy with plenty of flies swarming about. Artie found a pile of scallop shells, which Row wanted to bring home to add to the garden ornaments at home, but due to the potential anti fragrance issue was barred from doing so.

Now back on board, having been the only boat here when we arrived there are now nine boats anchored, some appear to know each other as there’s plenty of cross chat going on, but all in good spirits.

This is beautiful. Cheers…. hic!
It’s great to keep up with your adventures and is taking my mind off feeling a bit rubbish at the moment.lots of love, safe sailing from mummy(ma)xxxx
