Tuesday 4th August 2020 – Alongside at Rhu Marina, Helensburgh

Tim’s recording studio! Episode 18 will be ready to listen to on Sunday 9 August from 6 am.

It rained all night, it rained all day. The rain ran like rivers along the deck and were above window level as we sat in the salon of Talavera. It rained so hard we could hardly hear each other speak so Tim sat with his headphones on recording his podcast and Row sat with her headphones playing her keyboard. We then sat wearing headphones watching dvds, the noise from the rain was so bad we couldn’t hear the tv without them.

The noise from the rain lashing down on the boat was aufully loud

By lunchtime it was still blowing a steady 23kts, goodness knows what it was like out at sea, gusting all kinds of silly strengths. The life boat from Rhu (this marina) has gone out to a boat in distress, good job we were alongside. Guys and gals out there volunteering from the RNLI we salute you.

We have heard that the roads in and around Faslane are closed due to flooding, which is probably why our parcel of replacement parts for our navigation system have yet to arrive at the marina, so we shall be glad to stay here for another night.

Row was mad enough to go out in this to the shops

Row walked into town, got drenched, wished she hadn’t, but came back with a reasonable bottle of local whisky which we shall enjoy tonight. We plan a nostalgic night in with lots of toasts to friends we have said goodbye to but are not forgotten.

Very nice
Meanwhile the Ship’s Cat has caught Tim’s sock for fun!
Without out even looking 😂😂😂

Hopefully this weather will pass through, we have elected to stay another night in the hope for better tomorrow and will go do a bit of site seeing before moving on Thursday.
