What a difference a day makes

All was going so well, beautiful moon over Newtown Creek then around midnight the wind started to pick up and by 7 o’clock this morning the wind was gusting 25 knots, fortunately it was southwesterly so a run back to Gosport.

Artie the Ship’s Cat was on stand down watch this morning having been on anchor watch all night so he got his head down whilst we got under way at 8 o’clock, we set the fore sail and headed home.

One of his favourite places when not on watch

Half way back passing Cowes the weather became somewhat inclement to say the least and by the time we rounded Gilkicker it was positively horrible.

The is no bad weather only bad clothing!!!
Normand Pacific the ship that is part of the cable laying in the Solent.

Well that’s it for now until we get another weather window so it’s back to the planning for our Round Britain trip this summer.
